Tyre Nichols: Video of Fatal Police Beating in Memphis Spurs New Demands for Police Accountability
Memphis police released disturbing footage on Friday showing the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols by five former police officers who now face murder charges over the 29-year-old Black father’s death. The videos show officers kicked, punched, electrocuted and struck Nichols with batons for several minutes while he offered almost no resistance. It took more than 22 minutes for medics to appear on site and treat Nichols, who died three days later from his injuries. Memphis has since disbanded the SCORPION police unit that the five ex-officers belonged to and which was known for its aggressive practices, but activists are calling for deeper changes, including the end of qualified immunity that shields police officers from being sued by victims and their families. It makes you wonder how many more sick bastards pass the police exam. Clearly some major flaws in the education off police in general. Men with such behaviour and actions shouldnt have been police in the first place
(unverified) word on the street is that Tyre was involved with Demetrius Haley's ex wife. Was this attack personal? Was it premeditated? Why was Demetrius taking photos of Tyre after he beat him? Was he sending the photos to his ex? Will we ever know what really went down?
As always, I tried to put off diving too deeply into this latest drama because it takes such a toll on my psyche.
This unit was previously disbanded in Atlanta (Red Dog unit) because of illegal searches, brutality and the chief herself was fired for trying to hide evidence of child pornography on behalf of a coworkers husband. They even detained my brother and had him strip to his undies looking for narcotics on the side of the hwy simply because he left a certain area of town. 3 whole suvs, rifles and canines swarmed him. One man. He has never done a drug or taken a sip of alcohol in his life. He was petrified.
Cops are fucking gangs and though not every single cop is bad, the system is. Rotten apples spoil the bunch. It’s about time we reframe the conversation and address them as the criminals they are.

They didn't indict him because they didn't want an indictment. Remember during an indictment it's only one side so there's no one to dispute what actually happened. That's why it's usually takes a few minutes for a Prosecutor to get one. The individual being indicted doesn't have a right to testify and usually doesn't. Because you don't want to tip your hand so to speak. So the only reason you would come and testify is you are absolutely sure the DA is going to work to get you off. Remember a prosecutor can indict a bologna sandwich. This is BS
