The riotous antics of angst-ridden, disaster-prone middle school student Greg Heffley continue in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules,” focusing this time around on his complicated relationship with older brother Rodrick. A spikey-haired high school student, Rodrick is lazy and undisciplined and spends way too much time practicing with his rock band, Löded Diper. While he loves to torment Greg, he ultimately has a deep affection for his younger brother. Directed by Luke Cormican (“Teen Titans Go!) and written and produced by Jeff Kinney, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules” features the voices of Brady Noon (“The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers”), Ethan William Childress (“mixed-ish”), Edward Asner (“Up”), Chris Diamantopoulos (“Silicon Valley”), Erica Cerra (“Power Rangers”), and Hunter Dillon (“Deadpool 2”). “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules” features the original song, “Can You Smell Us Now,” written and produced by Jon Levine, with lyrics by Jeff Kinney, and performed by Jimmy Tatro.

  1. I am once more one of the few people completely in support of these movies. I like the animation enough, and they’re always faithful to the source material. It’s just cozy, I like it🤷🏼‍♂️

  2. Gotta ask… why the animation so absolutely outrageously low quality? Looks like something a Youtube under 1k subs could make in under an hour

  3. Bruh why is everybody comparing the live-action vs the animation🤨of course it isn’t the same cuz it’s animated, it would make much more sense to compare the live-action ones with each other.

  4. I usually don't mind some reboots or just don't care. But these animated remakes shorten and ruin something I grew up with.

  5. The animation is rough, but I really enjoyed the first movie, and though it had its problems, it was a guilty pleasure. Though I’m more hopeful towards this one since, 1) rodrick rules was an amazing book,2) it’s longer, so hopefully they won’t cut important parts of the story out, and finally, it has more rodrick.

  6. I hope they don't just make a watered down version of the live action movie like the first one and stay true to the books instead

  7. Even though I loved the first three live-action movies, I feel like it would be better to not compare them with this.

I feel like this would be sort-of like a yearly thing where they release sorta long episodes based off the books
