  1. Is smart to have his new shit on Apple TV, cause an’t no one going to cinema to watch him no more, no more!!

  2. He's running from Jada!! Will Smith doing what he does again. Did we think artists weren't human?

  3. From Will Smiths point of view, making this movie was almost as painful as his wife cucking him on live tv.

  4. Agent: “So they want you to do a slave movie.”

Will: “I said I’m never doing that”

Agent: “Well that was before you slapped Chris.

Will: “When do we start shooting?”

  5. I thought he never wanted to play the role of a slave. This is backward for his level of talent, celebrity, and dignity. I know we shouldn't forget about our past by why have one of the few good guy actors playing this role. I hope this was something he planned to do before that smack bc it's giving Hollyweird punishment. Stay strong, forgive yourself and don't let anyone make you lose your great amazing man self, love ya.

  6. If I may say so, I'd like to say that I know from the inside that this is going to be AMAZING 🙂

I was a student at the Academy of Art University, previously, and occasionally we'd get to read scripts for films that were yet to be released; as I was in their Motion Pictures & Television school, and furthermore in classes focused on writing. A lil over a year ago from today, I think, an assignment gave me the option to choose between a series of screenplays that I could write about their usage of motifs and character moments and yadayada.

Emancipation was one of those screenplays. Will Smith was already basically confirmed to be playing the main character at that time, too, so I read the entirety with him in mind.

And I get that directing can make or break a film, and that all I had was the script; but based on the script alone, this is gonna' be one of the best of the year, if not THE best of this year!

  7. The accent honestly makes no sense. By the time emancipation happened, they'd long since stopped importing slaves from Africa. Any slave his age would've had a southern accent similar to the people who owned him.

  8. Btw, what’s the rapper’s name who emancipated Jada’s ass? I can never remember.

  9. As a Black American man, after seeing Mandingo and Roots, I really don't care to see these type of movies anymore.

  10. To hire Will Smith in the same year as his controversy and expect us to watch yet another slavery movie in BLACK and WHITE is a slap to our faces.

  11. Duh yet another boring movie about bad bad white people. Ain’t that generalisation? I thought stereotypes are not allowed these days 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅

  12. Is this not the guy who slapped the other guy on stage or was it the other way round?

  13. the trailer reminded me of a brief scene in Ken Burns' THE CIVIL WAR documentary of the early 1990s. An escaped slave returned to his former master's plantation as a member of a regiment of Union cavalry. I don't think Will Smith's character Peter is going to wear the blue suit tho.

  14. Will has been through so much; it's really heartwarming to see a victim overcome their PTSD! /s

  15. Dawg nobody needs another slave movie they only show us about slavery in movies like selling are trama back to us in different ways over and over and over

  16. Only Jesus will emancipate anyone. Only Jesus will judge His enemies. The Lord God will judge all of us.
