  1. That photograph of the gentleman with the torture scars is historical. I'm quite interested in his learning his back story.

  2. Africans sold out their own people and Hollywood did not tell that story. Instead, they fucking lied to make whites out to be the only evil on earth and blacks are the only victims. It's fucking old.

  3. OH, look, another movie to make white people look bad. Democrats gotta keep racism alive or they would not have anything to cry about. Blacks are not the only ones to ever be enslaved. Genghis Kahn killed millions of yellow people. Jews were put in ovens. Stalin starved millions of white people. I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

  4. I wonder if they are ever going to make movies about all the other races that have gone through hell to survive history

  5. mmm, interesting seeing Will Smith in a movie about slavery, with mature content. Specially considering that he has kind of claimed to be a non bloody movie actor… Though, there have been many more mature roles in more serious movies. Like I robot or pursuit of happiness, etc.
But again the character seems to follow the "American dream" style of some of the other roles he has been. And the classic Will Smith vs the world. Like many of his movie, for example enemy of the state, iam legend, independence day, etc.
Interestingly to see him in such a movie, kind of a statement… Remember when Tarantino spoke about not casting Will as Django, because he couldnt see him in such a role. In a way it seems like Django unchained showed the world a new blockbuster archetype "The slave superhero badass"… Though, it was already around before Django Unchained.
The tone and camera work and some of the scenes look awesome.

  6. The movie looks good, and I love will Smith… But a man who allows his wife to sleep with other men doesn't seem like a hero type

  7. Until now, I still wonder, why did America never make a film about how they took over the American continent that Christopher Columbus had previously occupied by Indians by forcibly occupying and killing Indians. And why even Christopher Columbus is crowned as the hero of discovering the Americas?
