31. An old guy in our church flew a Corsair in Korea. He told me about one mission. His flight was flying low cover while the jets were at a higher altitude. Suddenly, he heard ''break left'' over the radio. Being a well-trained aviator, he immediately responded by hard breaking to his left. Tracers shot by his canopy but missed him. Later in the mission, he wanted to thank whoever warned him. But they told him that nobody warned him. There was no radio message.
