BLONDE | Official Teaser | Netflix

Ana de Armas is Marilyn Monroe in Blonde, only on Netflix 9/23. From director Andrew Dominik, and based on the bestselling novel by Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde boldly reimagines the complicated life of icon Marilyn Monroe. Blurring the lines of fact and fiction, the film artfully explores the tension between her public and private life.

  1. I really like how in the cameras, filming, its all full of colors, but when she's alone or not in stage, it's black and white. Wich should be the contrary.

  3. ANA DE ARMAS TO PORTRAY MARILYN MONROE WITH CUBAN ACCENT, ACTRESS PREVIOUSLY CLAIMED TO HAVE SPENT “NINE MONTHS ” PERFECTING HOLLYWOOD ICON’S ’S VOICE

IF SHE HAD MASTERED MONROE’S ’S VOICE, DE ARMAS HAD ATTESTED, “I TRIED! IT ONLY TOOK ME NINE MONTHS OF DIALECT COACHING, AND PRACTISING, AND SOME ADR SESSIONS.”
“IT WAS A BIG TORTURE, SO EXHAUSTING,” SHE SAID OF THE EXPERIENCE. “MY BRAIN WAS FRIED, TRY TO REMEMBER SHE'S FEELING IN BIG BIG SHOES HERE TO FILL AND SHE WORKED HER BUTT OFF AND YES MAYBE A SLIGHT CUBAN ACCENT BUT THATS LIKE AMERICANS IF AMERICNAS HAD TO HAVE A DIFFERENT ACCENT TO PLAY A ROLE I BET A SLIGHT AMERICAN ACCENT WILL COME OUT IN ALL OF YOU THATS COMPLAINING ABOUT A SLIGHT CUBAN ACCENT THAT SHE PROBABLY CANT HELP 100% STILL A FENOMNAL AMAZING JOB JUST CHILLING TRAILER IN ITS SELF SO TRY TO GIVE HER SOME SLACK AND NOT BE SO HARSH SHES A FENOMNAL ACTRESS AND SO WAS MARILYN, LOVE THEM BOTH I THINK NOMATTER WHAT ITS GOING TO BE FENOMNAL

THAT EVERY SCENE IN BLONDE IS INSPIRED BY AN EXISTING PHOTOGRAPH.
“WE ’D PORE OVER EVERY DETAIL IN THE PHOTO AND DEBATE WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN IT. THE FIRST QUESTION WAS ALWAYS, ‘WHAT WAS NORMA JEANE FEELING HERE?’ WE WANTED TO TELL THE HUMAN SIDE OF HER STORY. FAME IS WHAT MADE MARILYN THE MOST VISIBLE PERSON IN THE WORLD, BUT IT ALSO MADE NORMA THE MOST INVISIBLE

THE ACTOR HAD TO UNDERGO THREE AND A HALF HOURS OF MAKEUP EVERY DAY.

  4. Soon Alexander Skarsgard as Fidel Castro with a sweish accent, ahahahahahaahahah this is such a joke.

  5. To everyone saying “oh bUT sHe’s LaTiNa she can’t play Marilyn” Just because you’re Latino it doesn’t automatically make you POC.. Ana de Armas is a white Cuban woman playing a white American woman. Her grandparents/ancestors emigrated from Spain to Cuba, or do ya’ll think white Europeans only immigrated to USA and Canada? Lol

  6. I’ll say the same thing I said when I saw the first picture. Her eyebrows are to think and modern. I wish they’d gone with more accuracy on that account then pandering to modern beauty standards.
    Looks great though.

  7. I definitely believe she went through this in her life!! She loved her life but she hated it as well! One of the most beautiful women ever made❤️rip Marilyn

  8. Ana de Armas has the same energy as Marilyn Monroe, the director has a good eye.

  9. It's about honoring the LATE PERSON being depicted. NOT the "Estate". Not even the fans. It's about honoring THEM. If you can't do that. Why even do the movie? That's what makes no sense. And as I said in a deleted comment Aaliyah's Estate/family clearly didn't give AF about her nor did Britney's & many others. So what the "Estate" says means nothing. What the PERSON themselves wants or was…… matters. Period.

It's bad enough Kim Kardashian selfishly ruined Marilyn's dress (and took some of her HAIR too… no one talks about that), now they have someone depicting Marilyn who's not her race or nationality and has a heavy accent that sounds NOTHING like her…. it's becoming a problem with the Marilyn Monroe disrespect. Honor her properly or let her rest in peace. All I'm saying.

  10. Is it wrong to say she reminds me of a Latina Marilyn but not THEE Marilyn? 🤔 I mean come on. She WAS white. If they had an Indian girl, play Beyonce or something… nomatter HOW talented the Indian actress is… she's still not black. And it would be a HUGE controversy. This is no different. I don't blame her, I blame the Hollywood producers who KEEP doing this dumb sh!t just stir up controversy. Just like they keep rehashing old movies from the 90's & 80's because they're out of ideas.

Hollywood is tired now and have no clue what they're doing anymore. That's why I thank God for Jordon Peele & filmmakers like him who ACTUALLY still care.

  11. Good trailer, but I would give anything for them to have used any Lana song with this, like Carmen or something…

  12. Honestly anyone reducing this performance to an accent clearly lack eyes and a brain. Ana captures the glamour, honesty, vulnerability and screen presence of Marilyn perfectly! Where others may have nailed the colloquialisms, Ana nails everything else. It's the feelings behind the words and the words them selves, not the accent they're spoke in 👍😊

  13. NOPE, not watching this. Ana is a great actress, but I'm sorry, she's not a white woman, and I can still hear her Cuban/Spanish accent. I know she trained and trained for Marilyn's accent, but it's just not there. I can't even do it.

  14. Será que esse será o filme que vai humanizar ela, vão contar os abusos que ela sofreu?

  15. The issue with this movie is how Marilyn is portrayed; constantly, every second struggling. that’s not how she acted in real life.

  16. And yet Latino girl plays white woman) this world has gone really wrong

  18. WHY?? TELL ME WHY MARILYN MONROE IS PLAYED BY WHITE ACTRESS??? WHERE DID ALL BLACK PEOPLE GO? WHY NO ONE IS SCREAMING AND YELLING FOR TOLERANCE!

I am very VERY disappointed of that! MARILYN MONROE MUST be played by black transgender oversized woman! Otherwise is a booolsheeeet!!

  19. Y’all complaining about a Latina playing Marilyn when her mother was born in Mexico. So by birthright, Marilyn Monroe was a Latina.

  20. Never thought a trailer this short could give me goosebumps.. Ana de Armas has finally got that one role which will make her legendary.. though she currently is the best in the business according to me anyway (loved her in No time to die as well as The gray man).. but this will take her places for sure.. lots of love

  21. These terorists from downing street Sea Cliff, They need to be sent in police to explain if they did teract MC Estonia in 1994 and Tsunami in 2004 in Tailand with they mafia for stealing copy of my body and other royals to make movies for money…

  22. I've watched this trailer over ten times but It took till now for me to realise what Marilyn was actually talking about, she's crying because her "persona" hasn't "come" yet, but laughs when she's see's her Marilyn Monroe persona in the mirror. How did I not realise this?!?!
