For over fifty years, Judy Blume’s classic and groundbreaking novel Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. has impacted generations with its timeless coming of age story, insightful humor, and candid exploration of life’s biggest questions. In Lionsgate’s big-screen adaptation, 11-year-old Margaret (Abby Ryder Fortson) is uprooted from her life in New York City for the suburbs of New Jersey, going through the messy and tumultuous throes of puberty with new friends in a new school. She relies on her mother, Barbara (Rachel McAdams), who is also struggling to adjust to life outside the big city, and her adoring grandmother, Sylvia (Kathy Bates), who isn’t happy they moved away and likes to remind them every chance she gets. The film also stars Benny Safdie (Licorice Pizza, Good Time) and is written for the screen and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig (The Edge of Seventeen), based on the book by Judy Blume, and produced by Gracie Films’ Academy Award® winner James L. Brooks (Best Picture, 1983 – Terms of Endearment), alongside Julie Ansell, Richard Sakai, Kelly Fremon Craig, Judy Blume, Amy Lorraine Brooks, Aldric La’auli Porter, and executive produced by Jonathan McCoy.

Love the thumbnail mood, they are all smiling but look so suffering at the same time
So glad they didn't make this into today's problems with the world! Applause 👏👏👏👏
Is that Cassie Lang?
I read this frequently as an adolescent….I would like to now see an "Are you There God II….Menopause version." 😀
please lets hope they didn't dilute the story
SPOILER ALERT
God ghosts Margaret.
lol I forgot all about this book, I read it when I was 10 over and over again. The Internet wasn't a thing yet so I lived in books. Also no one in my house talked about anything "growing up" hahaha
the bit at the end….. way funnier than it should be
My mom gave me this super complicated sex talk when I was 5 and about five years later, she gave me a copy of this before I could ask any more questions. I think it helped when I started my period at school a year later because I ended up with a huge maxi pad, waddling around school, thinking “at least it’s not a belt contraption …” Bless you, Judy Bloom.
Rachel mcadams looks wayyyy too young to be playing the mom omg i can’t believe she’s 45 🙊
THIS WAS A WONDERFUL BOOK FOR ME!! 47 YEARS AGO!

I wish someone would write a book about menopause. I read this book as a kid.
How long till the WOKE mob attacks this??? 🤣
Read the book when I was little.
Thank you Judy Blume… From us ❤️
Because of this book I couldn’t wait to get my period, and then shortly regretted it for the next 41 years.
I know there was a tv show. But I would love a movie based on Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing.
I remember this story as a kid. It looks amazing on screen 🙂.
Oh my goodness I'm so excited! I loved reading this book! I got a hold of it when I turned 12 in 1985. I was in the same boat as Margaret…a late bloomer LOL
A Needed one cause still there are insecurities left
I read this book so many times!!!
Still have my original copy of the book from when I was a kid and I just turned 50!
WOW!! This is coming out as a film??? When I was a kid I was the only boy I knew who actually read this book and I liked it even better than Judy Blume’s other books. Cool that they’re doing this. But what took so long?
George Harrison music it's really great for this mv
I loved the book and I think I was an adult when I read it!
This is a pointless movie lmao
Wait, was that "Lords of Acid" at the end? Jesus, I haven't thought about that in DECADES.
👍
I remember (many moons ago) when my cycle started…
My aunt sent me a care package with a training bra, a box of pads, a box of chocolates, and this book…
When my daughter started her period, I did the same for her…
I can't wait to go see this with my sister, my daughter, and my best friend…
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am SO GLAD Judy Blume is still alive to see this!! … WHY did it take so long??
I LOVED this book when I was 10-12 years old! I really hope this movie does it justice, I’m super excited
Omg omg dare I say this seems to look good & keeps the spirit of the original? Can I finally trust that this will be a faithful book-to-movie adaptation?
