In the taut thriller ALICE, DARLING, Oscar® nominee Anna Kendrick (Best Supporting Actress, Up in the Air, 2009) stars as a woman pushed to the breaking point by her psychologically abusive boyfriend, Simon. While on vacation with two close girlfriends, Alice rediscovers the essence of herself and gains some much-needed perspective. Slowly, she starts to fray the cords of codependency that bind her. But Simon’s vengeance is as inevitable as it is shattering – and, once unleashed, it tests Alice’s strength, her courage, and the bonds of her deep-rooted friendships.

Lionsgate presents, a Babe Nation Films / Elevation Pictures production, produced with the participation of Ontario Creates, in association with Castelletto Films.

  1. I'm not excusing the abusive guy, but if you have to lie to your partner about where you are going for a week cuz of how they'll react, that is a red flag right there. I could never imagine doing that or having my partner do that to me…and we would struggle to be a part for a week. The girls saying since when is he more important than us, yes, your spouse becomes more important than friends (guessing they aren't married) and they should be more understanding if it was a normal relationship. I'm sure the friends can see something isn't ok and trying to help her see that. Alice saying she can't do anything else wrong hits hard, I know ppl in relationships like that and see the reality now. Fortunately they are getting counseling and things are improving!

  2. The dudes already pissin me off and it’s only the trailer. “My beautiful geel “ Gag!!

  3. Alice's intellectualisation of her partner's abusive controlling behaviour to her friends and herself is spot on.

  4. I’m probably not gonna watch it. Looks fantastic and terrifying but I still have triggers from a long term abusive rx I had in my early 20s, i was watching the trailer and suddenly realized I spaced out for quite a long time just looking to nowhere. My life is better thanks to tears in therapy and support but maybe these topics will never be easy. Regardless, fantastic trailer!

  5. Why do I feel like, from this trailer, Alice is the abusive one and the dude is trying to help her with her anger management?

  6. This is what I’m talking about! Despite being a great actress she’s gotten no serious award attention since her breakout in Up In the Air (one of my favorites, watch it if you haven’t), so hopefully this movie changes that! I was a little worried about her career when she was on that Quibi show but this and Love Life are great steps towards a Kendricksance.

  7. Waiting for a movie to be made about the same story but from the mans perspective.
Evil cold biatch of a wife wants more money, cars, houses etc etc…husband can't give her enough because for HER it is never enough.
She pays 200 bucks to a boxer to give her 2 black eyes and voila!
Husband ends up losing his job, money, wife, children, house, car and ends up living in a tick and infested roadside motel where one days he shoots his brain to pieces with a 36.

    ((Based on a true story))

So people when is this going to happen? I mean it does happen in real life but of course since the role would be played by a straight while cis male we can't have that can we?
Pathetic, disliked trailer on principle alone, you people disgust me.

  8. I almost ended up in a horribly abusive marriage, and I still feel traumatized when I see something like this. Not everyone is lucky to get out before it's too late.

  9. Hope she gets the award she'll no doubt deserve! As my son & I are domestic abuse survivors & loving Anna in every, I can't wait to see this but won't be able to in theater, looks so real & she so superb must wait to watch in my own home so can pause as needed to regroup.

  10. Oh cool, Another male bashing movie, just what we needed. 🤷🏾‍♂🤷🏾‍♂

  11. This terrifies me. I must say I will probably give this (and any subsequent nightmares) a miss. I’ve been in a relationship like this. It’s a testament to how good this film will be I suppose, lol!

  12. two single ugly woman trying to convince their hot friend he is controlling her. right. got it.

    'my beautiful flop' 😴

*btw Anna's best performance was in Scott Pilgrim…….she was such……a……..

    beautiful girl in that…..

  13. Having recovered from a almost identical relationship in the past, this trailer set me on edge, I'm keen to see how it plays out and will definitely give it a watch, I do love Anna Kendrick as an actress and I'm sure she'll do well in this.

  14. More “toxic masculinity”… It must be part of the “men are the worst according to Hollywood” Trilogy. I love this new trend.

  15. When I heard the description of this film from someone who saw it at tiff I pictured it more a drama than thriller.. but I love Anna and can't wait to see it.

  16. I had one of those. They day I threw him out he said, no one will love you they way that I do. And thank God that was the case.

  17. I got anxious just by watching this trailer! 😮‍💨 I'm definitely going to give this movie a chance, seems incredibly done!

  18. I’ve just never liked her in anything (or understood her popularity at all), luckiest actress in hollywood
